NOTE: Sodium Heparin green top tubes must be used for all blood cytogenetic tests.
Scope of Service:
- Provide full service testing in Cytogenetics for the University Hospital community and surrounding hospital centers. The facility is equipped with state of the art equipment to produce accurate testing results and to improve turnaround time and throughput. The Cytogenetics laboratory specializes in both constitutional and cancer testing, including fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH).
- All specimens must be submitted with an appropriate intake sheet. Note: Tissues must not be fixed in formalin fixatives.
